Washington Wizards center Jonas Valanciunas shared his thoughts on the ongoing trade buzz surrounding him. It's been only a couple of months since he joined the capital team and amid a poor start to the season, his name has been mentioned in trade rumors.

Speaking with Stefan Bondy of the New York Post, Valanciunas talked about all the rumors. He said he's not focused on that and is keen on doing his job for the Wizards.

"What can happen in the future, maybe tomorrow, maybe even today, I don’t know," Valanciunas said about the possibility of being dealt. "If it happens, it happens. It’s a young team still putting the pieces together. Everything can happen."

Speaking on his decision to join the Wizards, the Lithuanian center said he's happy to be on a team that wanted him to be there.

"They wanted me, they showed some trust in me, so I’m happy here," Valanciunas said. "You’ve got to stay patient. But we get better, we practice, and the young guys drive me to get better, too. I feel the kick in my ass to practice and get better and work on my skills. So, I’m taking advantage from that.".

After finishing a three-year tenure with the New Orleans Pelicans, Jonas Valanciunas signed a three-year, $30 million deal with the Washington Wizards as part of a sign-and-trade with the Pelicans, who acquired a 2027 protected second-round pick in return.

The 32-year-old is averaging 11.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game after 30 contests. He's shooting 55.9% from the field and 92.4% from the free-throw line.

Jonas Valanciunas' teammate reportedly interested in joining Mavericks' Big 3

To add to Jonas Valanciunas' buzz, NBA fans learned that Kyle Kuzma, Jonas' teammate on the Wizards, is reportedly interested in joining the Dallas Mavericks. According to insider Jake Fischer, the forward would be open to joining forces with Kyrie Irving, Luka Doncic, and Klay Thompson.

However, it might be a little too late for Kuzma since the Mavericks were already interested in landing him last season, but he rejected the trade and opted to stay with the Wizards.

Fischer adds that the market for Kuzma is "tight" right now, so this is another situation to keep an eye on moving forward. Despite having proven veterans like Jonas Valanciunas and Kyle Kuzma, the Wizards are arguably the worst team in the NBA, and plenty of fans think they would be better off hitting the reset button again.
