Jordyn Woods had been spotted at MSG before to support Towns. Wednesday, though, was her first time to be in the venue as a member of the Knicks’ loud support group.
The model’s presence on the Knicks’ home floor wasn’t a surprise. She recently went with “KAT” to Yankee Stadium to watch the Yankees-Royals showdown in Game 2 of the American League Division Series.
Karl-Anthony Towns struggles before putting on a show for his girlfriend Jordyn Woods and Knicks fans
Karl-Anthony Towns’ debut at Madison Square Garden didn’t start as many expected. In front of his girlfriend Jordyn Woods and the New York Knicks faithful, he struggled badly. Towns missed all his six shots and had only one point in the first quarter after making a free throw.
Some Knicks fans, notorious for criticizing their team’s stars, began whistling at Towns. The big man improved in the second quarter, but the crowd remained restless. They wanted to see more from the team’s highest-paid player and most heralded off-season acquisition.
Towns finally gave the show in the third quarter that his girlfriend Jordyn Woods wanted the Knicks fans to see. The All-Star center dropped 16 points, five rebounds and blocked one shot. He received a standing ovation when his tip-in gave his team an 86-59 lead before the halftime break.
Towns, a New Jersey native, recovered from a poor start to give the fans what they came for. He finished with 25 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 28 minutes.
