New York Knicks star big man Karl-Anthony Towns uploaded a highlight reel on Instagram to promote his All-Star candidacy. While the highlights were captivating, what made the video even more interesting was Towns’ choice of background music: LiAngelo Ball’s new song, "Tweaker."

Ball, also known by his rapper name G3, released the track on Jan. 3. "Tweaker" has quickly become a hit among NBA and NFL players.

LiAngelo’s older brother, Lonzo Ball, and the Bulls were caught celebrating to the song after their victory over the New York Knicks last weekend.

Even the NFL’s Detroit Lions joined the trend. Following their victory last weekend to secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC, the Lions celebrated in the locker room with G3’s track playing in the background.

Despite being out for just a week, "Tweaker" has already garnered 6.5 million views on YouTube and 9 million streams on Spotify. With its meteoric rise in popularity, it’s no surprise that stars like Karl-Anthony Towns are vibing to LiAngelo’s music.

Karl-Anthony Towns, in his first season with the New York Knicks, has quickly adapted to his new team and currently leads the Knicks in All-Star voting, surpassing Jalen Brunson in fan votes.

As of Thursday, Karl-Anthony Towns leads the Knicks in All-Star votes with 1,872,228, significantly outpacing Jalen Brunson, who has 477,253 votes. While some are baffled by the difference, Towns has proven to be a valuable piece for New York.

Looking at Towns’ numbers, the big man is arguably performing better than in recent seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Towns is averaging 25.3 points, 14.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 steals per game so far this year. It’s the first time in three seasons that Towns has averaged a double-double.

He is also shooting a career-high 45.0% from 3-point range and 55.2% overall. Given the numbers Towns has put up with the Knicks, it’s safe to say we are seeing the best version of him.
