The loss to the Hawks halted the impressive play of Towns and the Knicks in the NBA Cup that saw them lead East Group A with an undefeated 4-0 record heading into the knockout stage.

Atlanta, meanwhile, joined the Milwaukee Bucks and OKC Thunder who have booked semifinals spots in the tournament. The NBA Cup semifinal will take place in Las Vegas on Saturday.
