The first time after he was traded from the Minnesota Timberwolves, Karl-Anthony Towns was playing against his former team. In the first two NBA preseason games in the New York Knicks jersey, Towns was aggressive and effective on both ends of the floor.
However, he was seen struggling in the first quarter. Towns took fewer shots in the first quarter and failed to convert any of them. He attempted 3 field goals in the opening quarter and missed them.
However, in the last three minutes, the Knicks star picked up some points. He ended the first quarter with 4 points on 25% shooting from the field. His two points came through free throws. However, he missed all the 3-pointers in the opening quarter.

Karl-Anthony Towns talks life after being traded to the Knicks
Less than two weeks ago Karl-Anthony Towns’ career with the Minnesota Timberwolves took an unexpected turn. On October 2, he was traded to the Knicks in a three-team trade. Finding himself in a new city and new team was so sudden for Towns that his mind was not fully able to grasp it.
In a conversation with Zach Braziller of the New York Post, Towns revealed that he still gets confused by the Timberwolves notifications that he is getting on his phone. “I’m having moments where even for me being on social media, very rare times that I do, or I’m getting a Timberwolves update on my phone, and I’m kind of confused by a lot of things,” Towns told the Post.
It is not just the team and his teammates that Towns has to get acclimated to a different city life in New York. He was born in a suburban region in New Jersey and lived in Minnesota for nine years in the NBA.
The Knicks gave up Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo to the Timberwolves in the trade that also involved the Charlotte Hornets. Randle’s wife Kendra had previously said that living with a family of four was difficult in New York. She had added that they were already thinking of moving out of the city. It would be interesting to see which team gets more benefit from the trade. Right now, it appears that both teams have equally benefited from the deal.
