More details have trickled in after Karl-Anthony Towns was traded to the New York Knicks in a mammoth move. The Knicks shipped veteran Julius Randle and young guard Donte DiVincenzo to the Minnesota Timberwolves and added a scoring center to their fold.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania and Jon Krawczynski, the move is now part of a trade that also involves the Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets.

The Knicks are sending the T-Wolves a future first-round pick via the Detroit Pistons along with three-time NBA All-Star Randle and DiVincenzo. They are also offering to accommodate Town's massive $49 contract per year for the 2024-25 season along with wing DaQuan Jeffries and yet-to-be-specified future draft compensation to the Hornets.

Towns leave the Timberwolves after helping the team record one of their most prime seasons since 2004. The West team finished the regular season with an impressive 56-26 record and made the Western Conference Finals.

They lost to Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving's Dallas Mavericks but showed they had the potential to be a championship team with their 'Big 3' of Karl-Anthony Towns, reigning DPOY Rudy Gobert, and All-Star guard Anthony Towns
