Kevin Durant's alma mater, the University of Texas, is off to a solid start on the basketball court. The Longhorns men's basketball team is coming off back-to-back wins versus ranked opponents in conference play.

Entering Saturday's matchup versus the No. 13 Texas A&M Aggies, the Longhorns were looking to carry momentum coming off their first ranked win of the season versus the No. 22 Missouri Tigers. Texas pulled off the upset against the Aggies thanks to a go-ahead basket from Tramon Mark.

It was freshman guard Tre Johnson who led the Longhorns with 30 points, breaking his own record and becoming the first Texas freshman since Kevin Durant to score 30+ points in a game. Johnson connected on 4-of-10 3-pointers versus Texas A&M, dishing out four assists with two blocks and a steal on the defensive end.

Following the game, Durant reacted to the freshman's performance with a one-word comment on X.

Kevin Durant shines versus Nets

Kevin Durant is coming off a heroic performance of his own, finishing as the Phoenix Suns' second-leading scorer in their 108-84 win versus the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night. He finished the game as one of just two double-figure scorers for the Suns.

In 30 minutes, Durant scored 24 points on 8-of-15 shooting, burying four of his seven 3-point attempts. He grabbed eight rebounds and dished out three assists as Phoenix cruised to a win.

Devin Booker led the way for the Suns, scoring a game-high 32 points on 14-of-24 shooting, connecting on three of his eight 3-pointers. He dished out six assists, grabbed two rebounds and forced two steals on the defensive end of the floor.

Booker and Durant led the Suns to their eighth win in 11 games as Phoenix begins to surge past the halfway point of the season.
