After the Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant was posterized by the Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards. Team USA is hard in practice as they set their eyes on winning the gold medal. However, Edwards might've taken practice a little too seriously.

A photo of Edwards dunking on his childhood idol, Durant, was posted on X (formerly Twitter) earlier today. Fans were surprised to see how vicious the dunk on the two-time champion looked. Even in practice, the Wolves star doesn't hold back and shows off his insane athleticism.

Funny enough, Durant saw the picture on the social media platform, since he's active there. He reposted the now iconic photo and had a hilarious three-word caption.

"I tried Jennifer," Durant posted on X.

This was a callback to the response by the New Orleans Pelicans guard CJ McCollum to a fan in 2018. A fan called out the guard on X about how he should try to win a playoff game. McCollum had a three-word response that has now become iconic.

"Im trying Jennifer," McCollum replied to a fan.

The fan, who's named Jennifer Williams, had the chance to share her side of the story in 2019. Williams was also joined by the star guard on live TV. McCollum helped the Portland Trail Blazers advance to the Western Conference finals in the same year but was eliminated by the Golden State Warriors.

McCollum even thanked the fan for encouraging him to play better that year.

Kevin Durant's status for the 2024 Paris Olympics

Due to a calf injury, Kevin Durant hasn't played a single game this year for Team USA. The national team played five exhibition games and Durant didn't participate in any of it. On Thursday, the Suns star shared an update on his health and how his body feels as the start of the Olympic games nears.

"Each day, it’s been getting better, just checking things off the list," Durant said. "Practice yesterday, another intense practice today and we’ll see how I feel afterward."

Head coach for the national team, Steve Kerr, shared that he's hopeful of the forward's return to the lineup.

"I have no expectation other than he’s supposed to practice today, and we’re going to scrimmage," Kerr said. "So hopefully, he gets through all that and then we’ll take it day by day."

Team USA may be star-studded but they remain hopeful to have Durant back in full health. The three-time Olympic gold medalist is the team's leading scorer in the tournament and provides a significant scoring punch to the squad.
