Kevin Durant led the Phoenix Suns past the Washington Wizards on Saturday with a 119-109 victory. Durant finished the game with a team-high, 29 points on 62.5% shooting from beyond the arc. During the game, however, a leaked audio caught KD talking trash to the Wizards bench.

The trash-talking happened after Durant passed the ball to Nick Richards, who had a 20-point, 19-rebound performance. The pass led to a shooting foul against Richards, which led to two free throws.

While the big man was preparing to shoot from the charity stripe, someone from Washington's bench had something to say to the Suns.

“There’s a lot of pressure on these free throws,” the Wizards bench taunted the Suns.

However, Durant didn't feel threatened by what was said to his team and allegedly clapped back.

“Ain’t no pressure against y’all n****s” Durant replied.

Durant repeated what he said to the opposing bench two more times as Richards pulled through and made both attempts from the line. The Jamaican center was reliable from the free throw line and shot 6-for-7 in the game.

The Suns completed a two-game season series sweep of Washington in the 2024-25 NBA season. Phoenix will play the LA Clippers on Monday.

The Suns center has communicated with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker regarding pick-and-rolls

The acquisition of Richards was one of the smartest moves by the Suns off late. They traded away Josh Okogie, for a big man who can play above the rim on offense and protect them defensively.

According to Kevin Durant, the center has reached out to him and Booker on how he sets picks. This is to help the rest of the group in positioning themselves to get the best results on pick-and-roll situations. Durant talked about it after their win against Washington.

"Just keeping it simple, we're not planning to make the game too tricky," Durant said. "We can dive deep into the angles of the pick-and-rolls, and where I want you to set it for me, which angle is the best for me but we're trying to adapt around him.
"We try not to overthink it too much and let that stuff happen naturally. The nuances of the game, that'll happen naturally, he'll figure that stuff out. He's already coming to me and Book with suggestions and the guards on how he wants to set screens and where he wanna roll."
