Kevin Durant isn't a fan of how US sports culture has shaped out lately. The Team USA star engaged in a prolonged back and forth with a few American fans, mainly Nuggets supporters, who seemingly rooted for Serbia because of Nikola Jokic in Thursday's Paris Olympics basketball semifinal.

The USA won 95-91. However, they got mocked for nearly losing this contest after trailing most of the game. Durant seemed infuriated by the divisive behavior displayed by fans, leading to disrespect for the USA athletes. KD seemingly agreed with an X user from Australia, who criticized the US sports culture.

However, another user called out Kevin Durant, saying the issue around the 'divisiveness' and hating on certain players has always existed but is only brought to light now because it includes European players like Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Durant disagreed, claiming that fans use players to spread agendas, which is the root cause of the issues with this fan culture:

"That’s what yall do, yall clowns," Durant tweeted. "Use players to push these corny agendas yall got. This a brotherhood fam, u not apart of. It’s a problem now cuz social media got u clowns walkin around wit your chest out like u mean something. YOU DONT!!! YOUR TAKES DONT MATTER"

NBA fans have picked extreme sides when rooting for one team or player, especially in the modern era. A prime example of that could be the back and forth between Michael Jordan's and LeBron James' fans, who constantly look to gain the upper hand for their favorite player in the GOAT debates.

However, more often, that leads to either legend getting disrespected because of the 'idol worshipping' that happens, as Durant mentioned. The USA not getting support from a few Nuggets fans because Nikola Jokic was on the other side only proved Durant's stance.

How did Kevin Durant engage in the heated back-forth with fans?

Kevin Durant's latest back-and-forth on Twitter with critics started after he called out an X user, a Nuggets analyst, hailing Nikola Jokic and Serbia's efforts against the USA.

"Where u from?" wrote Durant on X, replying to a post a Nuggets analyst who said Serbia should be proud.

The heated debate extended after that as multiple Nuggets fans criticized Durant's comment on the analyst's post.

It prompted Kevin Durant to address the Nuggets fans publicly. Durant downplayed Denver fans' belief about Jokic being the best player but ensured he let them know how respected the three-time MVP is around the NBA. However, KD claimed the players didn't 'worship' Jokic like Nuggets supporters.'
