On Tuesday afternoon, Kevin Durant and Team USA took the floor in the knockout round of the 2024 Olympics. Following a dominant run in the Group Phase stage, they found themselves matched up with Brazil in the quarterfinals.

Despite being injured leading up to the Summer Games, Durant has been a key contributor for Team USA. However, he'd end up having a quieter performance against Brazil.

Kevin Durant logged 20 minutes in this matchup and finished with a stat line of 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and one steal. He shot an efficient 4-for-8 from the field, with three of his points coming from the free-throw line.

It's been a balanced attack from Team USA against Brazil, with production coming from everywhere. Every player on the roster logged minutes, and recorded at least one made field goal.

Team USA went on to win in dominant fashion by a final score 122-87. Aside from Durant, other notable performers included Devin Booker (18 points) and Anthony Edwards (17 points).

Kevin Durant continues to make history in the 2024 Olympics

Aside from going after what could be his fourth gold medal, Kevin Durant continues to make history with Team USA. For the second straight game, he's managed to etch his name atop an all-time list.

In Team USA's last game against Puerto Rico, Durant became the program's all-time leading rebounder. Against Brazil, he broke a record that was previously held by WNBA legend Lisa Leslie. With his 11 points, Durant is now Team USA's all-time leading scorer among male and female players.

Kevin Durant's outing against Brazil continued his streak of double-digit outings in the 2024 Olympics. He started off the tournament in impressive fashion, recording 23 points in a win over Nikola Jokic and Serbia. From there, he scored 14, 11 and 11 points respectively.

Durant is Team USA's leader in points per game as well, but his offensive services haven't been needed as much in these Olympics. With so many star-level players on the roster, there's been a different top performer almost every game. In this case, it was his Phoenix Suns teammate Devin Booker.

Looking ahead, Durant is a player the United States is going to heavily rely on. The competition is only going to get tougher from here, and he has more than enough experience in this situation. As they attempt to punch their ticket to the gold medal game, Durant and the United States will have to have a rematch with Serbia on Thursday.
