Two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant and Team USA competed against Serbia in a highly-anticipated semifinal matchup on Thursday at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Leading up to the game, Durant and Team USA went undefeated through the Group Phase of play, before then defeating Brazil in their quarterfinal matchup earlier in the week.

While Durant didn't suit up for Team USA during their slate of international friendly games, since the start of the Olympics he has been a dominant force for the United States. Over four games of action, Durant cemented himself as Team USA's all-time leading scorer and rebounder at the Olympics.

In Thursday's clash with Serbia, Durant once again came off the bench for coach Steve Kerr, with Serbia jumping out to an early lead over Team USA as they outscored the team 31-23 in the first. In the second, Team USA began to find their rhythm, however, Serbia still led 54-43 at the half.

In the second half, Team USA came alive, outscoring Serbia 32-15 in the fourth on the back of Steph Curry en route to a 95-91 win.

"You are the gold standard in basketball," - Kevin Durant praises Lisa Leslie after surpassing WNBA legend as Team USA's all-time leading scorer

Heading into the Olympics, Kevin Durant was already Team USA's all-time leading scorer for men's basketball. In his and Team USA's 122-87 win over Brazil on Tuesday, Durant surpassed Lisa Leslie as Team USA's all-time leading scorer at the Olympics.

While many praised Kevin Durant as the Team USA Olympic GOAT, he put the spotlight on Leslie after his record-breaking performance, stating that records are made to be broken, and he's happy to hold onto the record until another player eventually surpasses him on the all-time scoring ladder.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the future Hall of Famer wrote:

"Records are meant to be broken, I’ll hold on to this until another great comes along and passes me up…Lisa Leslie you are the gold standard in basketball, I appreciate your love and support throughout the years..much love to you always…it’s all about the gold baby. Let’s get it fellas"

While Kevin Durant is now Team USA's all-time leading scorer, he still sits in eighth place on the all-time Olympic scoring list with 494 points. Depending on his play throughout the remainder of the 2024 Paris Olympics, he sits just 30 points shy of fifth place, where Hall of Famer Manu Ginobili sits with 523 points.

Given that this is expected to be Durant's final Olympics, it seems highly unlikely that he will wind up moving into fourth place, where NBA vet Luis Scola sits with 591 points.
