Klay Thompson has made his first public appearance after leaving the Golden State Warriors and agreeing to sign with the Dallas Mavericks. The shooting guard became one of the biggest storylines of the 2024 NBA offseason but now seems to be in good spirits ahead of a new campaign.

Thompson finished his tenure with the Warriors after 13 years and is now ready to start a new chapter in his career. The four-time NBA champion made his first public appearance at Michael Rubin's annual All-White party, posing with New York royalty.

Thompson shared a picture with Super Bowl champion Michael Strahan, MLB legends CC Sabathia and Derek Jeter.

"@classicdecmove is so jealous rn," Thompson wrote.

This party reunited former and current athletes as well as celebrities. Earlier this week, fans were baffled by the presence of Grant Williams at the mini-camp that preceded the party. High-profile names like Tom Brady, CJ Stroud, Travis Scott and Quavo were present in the camp.

Skip Bayless says Klay Thompson didn't want to play with LeBron James on Lakers

In the wake of his decision to sign with the Dallas Mavericks, Skip Bayless talked about Klay Thompson turning down the option to join the Lakers and favoring a move to the Mavericks. The veteran analyst believes that JJ Redick being the new Lakers HC and the prospect of playing with LeBron James played a role in Thompson's decision.

"I think Klay heard that from his father, I think Klay thought, 'JJ Redick is the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers? I don't want any part of that,' Bayless said. "And one thing I always loved about Klay Thompson: out those Golden State Warriors, he was the one guy that didn't worship at the shrine of LeBron James. He did not worship at the feet of LeBron James.
"Draymond did. ... Draymond is all about LeBron. I think Steph sort of rarely embraces LeBron. They've been competitive for MVPs, Finals MVP, but the one guy who really wanted nothing to do with LeBron was Klay Thompson."

Thompson reportedly turned down a four-year, $80 million offer from the Lakers and picked the three-year, $50 million bid from the Mavericks.
