Klay Thompson stats tonight: How did the 4x NBA champ fare vs Rockets (Oct. 31) | 2024-25 NBA season (Imagn)

Klay Thompson had his moments in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough as the Houston Rockets staved off a furious Dallas Mavericks rally to hold on to a 108-102 win at the American Airlines Center on Thursday (Oct. 31). The Mavericks' five-game home stretch started with a skirmish against the Rockets and their first quarter didn't go as planned as they were outplayed from the start.

Thompson had no points in the first quarter, and neither did the forward record any rebounds and assists as the Mavs fell behind 34-21. While the 4x NBA champion didn't start the second quarter, he checked in with eight minutes remaining and managed a steal. He shot two buckets, missed a three, was 2-5 from the field, and 0-3 from beyond the arc.

How has Klay Thompson fared for the Dallas Mavericks so far this 2024-25 NBA season?

It's been a mixed bag for Klay Thompson so far in his first season with the Mavericks. The F/G started with a bang against the San Antonio Spurs with 22 points. He followed it up with 19 and 18 points against the Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz respectively. Thompson had an off game against the Minnesota Timberwolves with just seven points on 2-7 shooting from the field.

Thompson hit another milestone on Thursday when he reached 2,500 made three-pointers in his decorated career. He became the sixth player to reach the feat alongside Reggie Miller, Damian Lillard, James Harden, Ray Allen, and Steph Curry.

Thompson came into the season averaging 19.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per contest, shooting 45.3% from the field and 41.3% from the three-point range — all of which came during his 13-year run with the Golden State Warriors. He was part of one of the blockbuster trades to go down this offseason when he decided to link up with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving at Dallas.

Following the Rockets, Klay Thompson and the Mavericks will play their next game on Sunday evening when they host the Orlando Magic. Only time will tell if the Mavs can bounce back to winning ways against a stern Magic side.
