During Team USA's latest practice, superstar wing Anthony Edwards posterized his idol, Kevin Durant. A photo of the dunk quickly went viral on social media, sending NBA fans into a frenzy.
Durant has been gradually working his way back from a calf injury that sidelined him during Team USA's entire five-game pre-Olympic showcase schedule. Thus, some were concerned about his status for the Americans' first Paris Olympic group-stage contest against Serbia on Sunday.
However, after reportedly participating in a non-contact practice on Wednesday, Durant scrimmaged with Team USA on Thursday.
"Each day is getting better. Another intense practice today, and we'll see how I feel," Durant said.

Coach Steve Kerr touched on USA Basketball's desire to be cautious with Durant and not just "throw him out there." Nevertheless, that didn't stop Edwards from posterizing the two-time NBA champion.
On Thursday, a photo of the play, taken by photographer Garrett W. Ellwood, made the rounds on X/Twitter.
Many fans remarked about Edwards "owning" Durant after his Timberwolves swept Durant's Suns in the first round of this year's NBA playoffs. Some also referenced Edwards' comments from the series about Durant being his "favorite player of all time."
"I've never seen someone own their favorite player as much as ANT with KD," @thaofficialkat said.
"Ant really owns KD," @Goham_Quee said.
"Ant owning KD in the league and when they’re on the same team," @PrizePicks said.
Meanwhile, others suggested that Edwards frame the photo of himself dunking on his idol.
"Ant is a beast, and he is definitely framing it as his Hall of Fame dunk,"@ClipNation74 said.
"Ant gonna frame it," @HoopMuse said.
One fan also quipped that if Team USA superstar forward LeBron James was posterized, he and his representation would have had the evidence erased.
"Klutch [Sports Group] and Bron would have this taken off the internet, LOL," @LT80BABY said.

Kevin Durant reacts to getting posterized by Anthony Edwards
Among those who reacted online to Anthony Edwards' poster dunk was Kevin Durant himself. The 14-time NBA All-Star comically referenced ex-Portland Trail Blazers star guard CJ McCollum’s iconic 2018 response to getting called out by a fan named Jennifer.
"I tried, Jennifer," Durant tweeted.
However, there were likely no hard feelings after the play, as Durant has been working with Edwards during Team USA's practices. Earlier in the day, he was seen giving the two-time NBA All-Star shooting advice.
Durant and Edwards will look to lead Team USA to its fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal at the men's basketball tournament. Durant has been part of the Americans' last three gold medal-winning squads, while Edwards is set to make his Olympic debut.
