Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest players in NBA history, and his memorabilia has been one of the most collectible in the sports world. One of his rarest cards was sold in an auction for $75,000, with Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian reacting to it online.
In a post on Instagram stories, Ohanian shared the latest sale of a rare Bryant trading card from 2005. It was a one-of-one Topps Finest Superfractor, which had a PSA 10 grade. It was sold for $75,000 on Dec. 4 via auction by Alt Trading Card Marketplace.
"Congrats to the winner," Ohanian wrote.

While $75,000 is a lot for a sports card, it's not the most expensive Kobe Bryant card ever sold. According to HoopsHype, the most expensive card of the "Black Mamba" was sold for a whopping $2 million via a private sale on Feb. 22, 2022.
The card was an extremely rare Kobe Bryant 1997 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems – Green, which was numbered four out of 100. It had a BGS 8.5 grade, a good grade for a card like the Precious Metal Gems. They had great designs but were notorious for the difficulty to keep them in good condition.
However, it's not the most expensive NBA card sold. The record belongs to the 2009-10 Panini National Treasures Stephen Curry Rookie Logoman Autograph. It was a one-of-a-kind card graded PSA 10, with a 10 auto. It was sold for $5.9 million on July 6, 2021.
Serena Williams helped Kobe Bryant with his book released in 2019
Apart from being an NBA legend, Kobe Bryant ventured into a lot of things after retiring from basketball. Bryant became an author and released a children's book titled "Legacy and the Queen" co-written with Annie Matthew in 2019.
It's about a female tennis player trying to win a tournament in a magical kingdom. One of the people the LA Lakers superstar asked for advice was Serena Williams, who's considered the greatest female tennis player ever.
Here's what Bryant said about talking to Williams in an interview at the Orange County Children's Book Festival in 2019 via Tennis World:
"We sat on the phone for like an hour, and we just talked. We talked about technique, we talked about practice, we talked about the emotional struggles of being a young athlete.
"I think a lot of times as athletes, we feel like being sensitive is a weakness. I wanted it to be a great example for my daughters, for all the young women out there, that your sensitivity is where a lot of your power, your inner magic comes from."
Bryant died in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26, 2020 along with his daughter Gigi and seven other passengers, including the pilot.
