On Sunday night, Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves did the unthinkable and knocked the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets, out of the playoffs. It was an entertaining series that went down to Game 7.
Now that the T-Wolves have advanced to the Western Conference finals, they will face the Dallas Mavericks in the next round.
Edwards took part in a quick post-game interview after the thrilling Game 7 and shared his thoughts on his next opponents. 'Ant-Man' was asked about who he thought would be his matchup and what his thoughts were about it. The 22-year-old star name-dropped Kyrie Irving as his matchup.
"My matchup is going to be Kyrie... We're going to see what I can do versus him," Edwards said.

ESPN posted this Ant-Man's words in an Instagram post and the NBA fans couldn't hold themselves back from expressing their thoughts about it. One fan expressed his love for the Wolves star but warned him against calling him the "Ramadan Rebel."
"Kyrie bouta adopt another child," @luk3galloway said.
Other fans joined the fray as well, expressing their opinions on the matchup.
"Kyrie is not Jamal Murray he'll learn that quickly," @chefeusebe43 said.
"Ant, I swear I love ya my boy and I’m rooting for ya, but idk if ya wanna call the Ramadan Rebel out like that," @alexb09 said.
"Kyrie about to have mans figure skating," @khispinzz said.
"Kyrie bouta cook," @6ixth_yama_gucci said.
"As much as I like the tenacity in Anthony, I want Kyrie to wax that man on the court," @dreaction815 said.
This adds more spice to the upcoming Western Conference finals, which tip off on Wednesday, May 22. Anthony Edwards can rest for the time being and think about what to do when he faces one of the best ball handlers the league has ever seen.
Minnesota Timberwolves prove they can do it without Anthony Edwards as well
The Minnesota Timberwolves sent a bold statement to the entire NBA community after they eliminated the defending champions. The more inspiring feat is that the T-Wolves managed to pull it off without their main man, Anthony Edwards, leading from the front.
Ant's performance in Game 7 was subpar compared to his previous games in the series. He scored only 16 points, collected eight rebounds and dished out seven assists.
However, his teammates stepped up to secure the win for them at the Nugget's home by demolishing a 15-point lead in the second half of the game. Jaden McDaniels and Karl-Anthony Towns were the biggest contributors to the victory, scoring 23 points each.
Mike Conley was the consistent supporter from downtown, sinking in shots whenever the team needed them the most. He was 3-of-5 from downtown and scored 10 points. Naz Ried delivered his usual sixth-man-of-the-year-worthy performance, scoring 11 points coming off the bench.
