Minnesota improved its Emirates NBA Cup record to 2-2 and kept its hope of booking a seat to the next round alive.
After trailing 53-47 at halftime, the Clippers outscored the Timberwolves 45-40 in the second half. A turnover by Kris Dunn with 26.0 seconds remaining was costly as LA dropped its NBA Cup record to 1-2. James Harden finished the game with 20 points, 11 assists, six rebounds and five steals.

LA Clippers vs Minnesota Timberwolves Game Summary
The first quarter was a seesaw battle with the stars from both teams living up to expectations. James Harden had six points, three rebounds, three assists and one steal already. Julius Randle led the Wolves with seven points, three rebounds and one assist as the hosts took a 26-25 lead.
Harden added eight points to his total in the second quarter to keep the Clippers within striking distance of the Timberwolves. Kevin Porter Jr. came off the bench to score 10 points in the first half.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker gave Minnesota a much-needed push from the non-starters. He had 12 points, four rebounds, two steals and one assist in the first half. The Timberwolves held a 53-47 lead at halftime.
The third quarter turned into a defensive struggle between the LA Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves. Harden had some nifty passes that benefited Derrick Jones Jr. and Amir Coffey. The visitors won the quarter 21-19 but still trailed 72-68 heading into the fourth quarter.
The back-and-forth battle continued in the final frame. Anthony Edwards scored the Timberwolves’ last eight points, the last one giving his team a 93-90 edge with 1:45 remaining in the game. James Harden missed a 27-footer but Ivica Zubac tipped in a follow-up to cut the lead.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker had a chance to extend Minnesota’s lead but missed a 3-pointer. Kris Dunn cleaned the board but lost the ball to Mike Conley with 26.0 seconds remaining. The Timberwolves melted the clock before attempting a shot. Conley misfired on a triple before Edwards muffed a follow-up shot. Still, Minnesota won 93-92.
