Even La La Anthony and her son, Kiyan Anthony, couldn’t avoid the classic argument over rules in the card game UNO. During what appeared to be a New Year’s gathering, the heated discussion centered on whether draw cards could be stacked.

La La shared glimpses of the celebration on her Instagram Stories, including a heartfelt photo with Kiyan, calling him her “favorite person."

The festivities took a turn when a game of UNO sparked chaos. The group debated if stacking draw cards, like placing a +4 on a +2, was allowed.

"This is so you're telling me you can't have these two and then put that and that together and that's stacking you saying you cannot? I don't believe that. You can stack like that,” La La said.

However, according to the official UNO rules posted on X (formerly Twitter), if a player places a +4 card, the next person must draw four cards and their turn is skipped.

Stacking additional draw cards isn’t allowed during that sequence. That said, the following player can start a new stack.

La La Anthony talks about Kiyan Anthony’s decision to commit to Syracuse

In November, Kiyan Anthony announced his decision to commit to Syracuse, the same university where his father, Carmelo Anthony, led the basketball team to a national championship and earned the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player award before being drafted into the NBA in 2003.

During the live stream of Kiyan’s announcement, La La expressed her excitement:

"I'm overwhelmed, I'm happy ‘cause he's happy and I think it's an incredible decision," La La said. "They're an incredible school and they really worked hard in recruiting and just making him feel like a priority."

Carmelo Anthony shared his relief at Kiyan’s choice, emphasizing that it ended a period of indecision.

"I was just like time for him to, you know, no more flip-flopping. One day is this, one day is that. This situation, this visit, visits are dangerous, in a great way, though,” Carmelo said
“Because you go on these visits and they got to pull out all the stops, so everything looks good; everything sounds good, so you can't go off of what's offered. I'm glad that he decided to make this decision. I'm happy.”

Kiyan Anthony, a 6-foot-5 wing prospect, is set to graduate from high school this year.
