After a slow start to the season, the LA Lakers are eyeing any and all potential upgrades to their roster. Therefore, the LA Lakers trade rumors are in full swing. Recent reports suggest they have a strong interest in bringing in a veteran sharpshooter.
This past offseason, the Utah Jazz dismantled their roster as they look to rebuild. One of the many players they parted ways with was Bojan Bogdanovic, who landed with the Detroit Pistons. Not long after joining his new team, the 33-year-old has signed a two-year extension worth close to $40 million.
Through his first 14 games with the Pistons, Bogdanovic is averaging 20.3 points per game and shooting a stellar 43.0% from beyond the arc. As a result of his recent performances, multiple contenders are looking to acquire his services.

During a recent episode of his podcast "Please Don't Aggregate This," Yahoo Sports' Jake Fischer touched on the trade possibilities involving Bogdanovic:
“I do know Detroit is getting calls on him just like any team we’re getting close to the Dec. 15 area where a lot of players who signed are going to be eligible.”
Bojan Bogdanovic in the latest LA Lakers trade rumors?
From a fit perspective, Bojan Bogdanovic makes a ton of sense for the LA Lakers. Not only does he give them added depth and scoring on the wing, but he is a reliable outside shooter. Lack of 3-point shooting is arguably the biggest weakness on the roster, and should be the first thing the team addresses.
While Bogdanovic would be a clear upgrade for the LA Lakers, getting a deal done will be an uphill battle. For starters, they would have to mix and match multiple contracts to meet his $19 million salary for this season. Additionally, the Detroit Pistons would want a draft compensation in any deal for the former Utah Jazz forward.
Since the LA Lakers' supporting cast is lackluster, teams will not have much interest in acquiring their role players. This means if they want a guy like Bogdanovic, it would involve surrendering one of their future first-round picks.
Adding Bogdanovic certainly makes the Lakers better, but the cost might be too steep. The Lakers shouldn't move their picks unless it's a deal that 100% gets them back in the playoff hunt.
