The LA Lakers visited the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Wednesday as part of an 11-game night in the NBA. It was also a homecoming for LeBron James, who had two stints with the Cavaliers, from 2003 to 2010 and 2014 to 2018.

However, it didn't go as planned for "King James" and the Lakers since they were blown out by the Cavaliers 134-110. James had a bounce-back game after a stinker in their loss to the Phoenix Suns on Monday. But it was not enough to prevent the team's second straight loss.

Six Cavaliers players scored in double figures, led by Evan Mobley with 25 points and five rebounds. Mobley did most of his damage in the second half since he was in foul trouble in the first. Jarrett Allen added 20 points and 17 rebounds, while Donovan Mitchell finished with 24 points.

LA Lakers vs Cleveland Cavaliers Game Summary

LeBron James was given a huge ovation by his hometown crowd, but the Cleveland Cavaliers were not having any of it. The Cavs started the game hot and quickly built up a double-digit lead.

The Lakers failed to take care of the ball, especially Anthony Davis and James, who had three and two turnovers, respectively, in the first quarter. They were already down by 19 points at the end of the period.

In the second quarter, the Cavs had as much as a 23-point lead that the Lakers tried to chip away slowly. The two teams were just exchanging baskets, with the Lakers not getting a lot of stops to get closer as Cleveland ended halftime with a 67-48 advantage.

It was the same story in the second half as both teams were just exchanging baskets. The LA Lakers needed to make stops to slowly trim the lead and were successful early in the third quarter.

However, coach Kenny Atkinson made some adjustments and the Cavs were in rhythm again. JJ Redick pulled out his starters in the fourth quarter, with Bronny James entering the game around the five-minute mark of the period. He scored a jump shot with about two minutes remaining in the game for his first NBA points.

What's next for the LA Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers?

The LA Lakers continue their five-game road trip on Friday night against the Toronto Raptors. The Lakers will try to stop a two-game losing streak and win their first away from Crypto.com Arena. They are also scheduled to face the Detroit Pistons and Memphis Grizzlies before returning home.

On the other hand, the Cleveland Cavaliers are 5-0 to start the season with an impressive +91 point differential. The Cavs will welcome the Orlando Magic next before a home-and-away series against the Milwaukee Bucks.
