Lakers' Bronny James joins Parker Whitfield's 20th birthday celebration as her father posts heartfelt tribute

LA Lakers rookie Bronny James spent some time with Parker Whitfield's family for her 20th birthday celebration. Whitfield's father and actor, Dondre Whitfield, shared a heartfelt tribute to her only daughter.

In a post on his official Instagram account, Dondre wrote a message for her daughter on her birthday. The Whitfield family, including Dondre, his wife Salli Richardson and their kids Parker and Dre, were joined by Bronny and Parker's best friend, Ava Anabelle.

"Wow!!!!! My baby turned 20 years old today. I’m still in disbelief and shock. This is my baby!!!!! Parker you have become an intelligent, kind hearted and thoughtful young woman!!!!

"I’m proud of who you are and who you continue to become!!!!! Daddy loves you so much!!! You have become everything that your mom and I intentioned you to be!" Dondre wrote.

Bronny James and Parker Whitfield were seen together on the sidelines watching LeBron James and Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Amid rumors about their relationship, Bronny complemented Whitfield's Instagram picture last week.

Parker's parents, Dondre Whitfield and Salli Richardson, are actors. Dondre is known for his roles on the classic TV shows "Cosby Show" and "All My Children." His latest project is the show "The Upshaws" on Netflix. Richardson, on the other hand, played Dr. Allison Blake in the SyFy hit comedy-drama "Eureka."

In a special edition of "The Shop" live in Paris during the 2024 Olympics, LeBron James was excited to play alongside his son Bronny James in the upcoming season. They will make history as the first father-son duo to play in an NBA game at the same time.

"I am so excited for a training camp," James said. "I mean having your son work with you, it's like the the greatest thing. I can't wait for this moment. I really cannot wait to hit the floor with him. It's going to be pretty surreal for me. That might be the first time I sit back like, 'Oh, sh*t, this is really cool.'

"I've been so in the moment my whole career that I pray and hope that me being with my son will finally give me the opportunity to pull back and look at it from a different lens," James added. [18:40 - 19:27]

LeBron and Bronny can make history as early as opening night on October 22, when the LA Lakers welcome the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Crypto.com Arena.
