Sitting in eighth place in the Western Conference, the LA Lakers are barely clinging on to a spot in the playoff picture. As trade season is gearing up in the NBA, one of the team's most high-profile fans urged them to make upgrades.
On Friday morning, hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg joined Stephen A. Smith on ESPN's "First Take". While on air, he gave his thoughts on his favorite basketball team. After bringing back almost the same roster from last season, Snoop Dogg feels it's time for the higher-ups to make some changes.
"I think that we need to make some changes," Snoop Dogg said. "We brought back the exact same team from last year and, no disrespect, that ain't gonna cut it. We need to make some moves and move some people around."
"As Laker fans, y'all are on the clock. Y'all got to hurry up before we end up cussing y'all out, going all in on y'all like we normally do."

The Lakers got off to a hot start to the season, but have cooled out as of late. They sit just above .500 at 13-11. Anthony Davis and company have struggled as of late, winning just one of their last four matchups.
With the Western Conference being as competitive as it's been in years, LA is going to need more firepower to be a true contender.
LA Lakers linked to Nikola Vucevic in trade rumors
At this stage of the season, the rumor mill is just starting to warm up. That said, the LA Lakers already find themselves connected to a former All-Star.
Leading up to the deadline, one team that many around the league will be watching is the Chicago Bulls. Their moves over the last year indicate they want to embrace a youth movement, but they still have notable veteran talent on the roster. That being guard Zach LaVine and center Nikola Vucevic.
Vucevic is one of the main names tossed around in trade rumors as of late, with the Lakers being among the teams interested in him. Vucevic is putting together a strong season with the Bulls, averaging 21.0 points and 9.8 rebounds while shooting a stellar 47.4% from beyond the arc.
With a salary of $20 million, LA won't have to combine that many contracts to make a trade work financially. While he isn't a flashy name, the two-time could be a good fit alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Vucevic doesn't clog the paint, giving AD more room to work with on offense. Also, the Bulls veteran can hold down the center position. This would allow Davis to play power forward, the position he feels more comfortable at. With his ability to space the floor, Vucevic could also be a good pick-and-pop partner for LeBron.
More moves would need to be made, but acquiring a player like Vucevic could bump the Lakers up a tier in the Western Conference.
