The LeBron James-led LA Lakers are well-known for hunting stars in the trade market. One of the newest names linked to the famed franchise is Sacramento Kings star guard De'Aaron Fox. Amid the Kings' five-game losing streak, several trade rumors around the 2023 All-Star have picked up steam.

With Fox sharing the same agent as LeBron, Klutch Sports' CEO Rich Paul, rumors around the league have possibly hinted at the Lakers among the teams interested in his services. Here's what ESPN's Tim McMahon reported on Friday when listing other possible suitors for Fox (via "The Hoop Collective" podcast):

"If Fox asks out, teams like San Antonio and Houston are the ones to watch. I’ve also heard rumors about the Lakers, but it’s hard to tell how much of that is just speculation because he’s a Klutch client. There’s also been talks about Miami, given his connection to Bam Adebayo." (41:36)

It's not uncommon for a Klutch client to be linked to a LeBron James team. The Lakers superstar has played with several other players signed to Rich Paul's agency. De'Aaron Fox potentially appears to be the latest big name associated with the Lakers for the same reason.

The Kings star has two years left on his contract. He is making $34,848,340 this season. Fox declined a three-year $165 million extension this past offseason. According to NBA rumors, Paul and Fox are monitoring the Kings' situation amid a rough start this season. While he's not requested a trade, a lot could change depending on Sacramento's ceiling moving forward.

LA Lakers are open to trading 3 1st round picks to help LeBron James and Co. contend

The LA Lakers have three first-round picks to trade and the front office is reportedly willing to cash in those assets to improve the team. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Lakers won't hold onto the picks if they find the right set of payers who upgrade their roster this season and become integral to the team's setup under JJ Redick in the long run.

He cited multiple teams the Lakers are monitoring, including the Wizards, Nets, Raptors and Bulls. LA is looking at prioritizing depth over adding another star. The Lakers seemingly believe a deeper roster than a top-heavy one will elevate their chances of another title with LeBron James and Anthony Davis leading from the front.
