For only the fourth time in their NBA careers, Lamelo Ball and brother Lonzo met in an official game. Following their latest encounter, the former sent his older bro love with a heartwarming message on social media.
The two faced off on Friday in Chicago as the younger Ball and the Charlotte Hornets visited the Bulls in a Central Division showdown. It marked the fourth time they took the floor against each other, and first since Nov. 29, 2021.
The game was highly competitive throughout with LaMelo eventually having the last laugh as the Hornets took the game 125-123.
LaMelo Ball shared his excitement of seeing his brother back on the court after missing the previous two seasons because of injuries. He took to Instagram and wrote a touching message, saying:

Lonzo Ball amazed at how far LaMelo Ball has come in the NBA
LaMelo Ball has come far in the five years he has been in the NBA. His brother Lonzo Ball is among those happy and amazed for the success he has been experiencing.
The older Ball shared this in an interview with Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic following their latest encounter on Friday where the Charlotte Hornets defeated the Bulls 125-123.
"A little surreal just seeing how far he's (LaMelo) come."
LaMelo Ball is currently having a stellar individual campaign for the Hornets (10-28) after being limited to just 58 games in the previous two seasons. He is going for a career-high 29.5 points to go along with 7.5 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 34 minutes per game and is on track of making it to his second All-Star Game appearance after that in 2022.
Ball is in the first year of the five-year, $204-million rookie max extension contract he signed in July 2023. In re-signing with the Hornets, who selected him third overall in the 2020 draft, he said he believed in what the team was trying to accomplish and was on the right path.
