The LA Lakers have reportedly signed center Trey Jemison to a two-way contract on Wednesday, following their decision to part ways with Quincy Olivari. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Lakers waived Olivari to address their need for improved frontcourt depth, a priority the franchise has been actively working to strengthen.

Lakers fans erupted after Charania broke the news, with many sharing candid reactions to GM Rob Pelinka's latest roster move.

"League is in trouble. Consider this a warning @NBA," a fan commented.

"This is an upgrade over Jaxson Hayes. If the lakers can turn Gabe JHS wood Hayes and reddish into a big and a guard, sign Koloko for the rest of the season, and use all 50 of jemisons games, they’ll be in a much better spot," commented another fan.
"i actually really like the trey jemison signing if he plays, kinda similar to dayron sharpe & on a 2 way w less than 50 games left it’s not a bad idea. don’t understand why u didn’t waive armel traore and also what does this mean for koloko. also trade hayes + wood dude lol," a fan wrote.
"I think Trey Jemison is a really nice pickup for the Lakers on a two-way deal. He was very solid for the Grizzlies last season, when they were a mess with injuries. Terrific rebounder, good shot blocker, nice touch around the basket. Good flyer, developmental player for Lakers," said another fan.
"Coaches have loved Trey Jemison because of his size/toughness/motor. Not a high ceiling player, but does what he does with force and attention. New Orleans didn't need him with Missi's playing time becoming the real priority. Lakers need more bigs," Lakers insider Dan Woike tweeted.
"At this point anyone that might take a few mins away from Hayes feels like a potential win," a fan said.

Trey Jemison's NBA career

Trey Jemison’s experience in the NBA remains limited, with the 6-foot-10 center appearing in just 41 games so far. He has averaged 5.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while shooting 53.6% from the field. Notably, Jemison has yet to attempt a 3-point shot in his NBA career.

The young center has suited up for three franchises in the league – the Memphis Grizzlies, Washington Wizards and New Orleans Pelicans. His most recent game came with the Pelicans on Dec. 19 against the Houston Rockets.

Jemison delivered a solid performance in that outing, recording three points, six rebounds and two assists in 15 minutes. This season, he appeared in 16 games for the Pelicans.
