While Team USA has dominated in the games they've played leading up to the Paris Olympics, they might have found their match as they face South Sudan. While the game isn't over yet, Steph Curry, LeBron James and their other NBA All-Star teammates trailed by 14 points (58-44) at halftime.
To say that the Americans were stunned at the end of the first half would be an understatement. They are expected to be a dominant squad. They showed as much against Canada, Australia and Serbia as they beat them all before facing the South Sudanese squad.
Fans who saw the score were quick to point fingers at who they thought was to blame for USA being down at the half.

"Leave steve kerr in London," @carlosjvenida said.
"Embiid should not be on this squad. ruins the flow of the offense," @Jacklsu27 shared.
"Team USA were 42 point favorites going into this game. Little did they know Kerr is washed and Embiid will start," @nba77younger tweeted.
Meanwhile, other fans felt starting Anthony Edwards would have prevented such a scenario.
"Let Edwards takeover. These other guys are playing so awful minus Lebron," @aircapital27 posted.
"Start Edwards over [Jrue] Holiday," @2MINIHULK suggested.
"I know it’s a showcase game, but man Kerr and his lineup combos are atrocious. He finally woke up with 1 min before half with a lineup that can make something happen. Anthony Edwards should be on the court for the rest of the game" @hershtv chimed in.
Figuring out how to win against South Sudan will be a priority for Team USA, as they are both in Group C and will battle in the group stage on Aug. 1.

LeBron James and Steph Curry struggled for Team USA in first half against South Sudan
With the amount of NBA All-Star talent on this Team USA squad, they are expected to dominate, especially on the offensive end. However, this was not the case against South Sudan in the first half.
Steph Curry had a cold start, as he only scored three points on a 1-for-4 clip from beyond the arc and 2-for-6 from the field. He has also struggled to be effective in other aspects, which is the opposite of how he performed against Serbia.
Another player who struggled in the first half is LeBron James. While he led the team in points (12) and rebounds (five), he also had the most turnovers (four).
Another player who struggled was Anthony Davis, who missed every attempt he made in the first two quarters. Davis went 0-4 from the field, but he did score two points via free throws.
Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum had similar struggles, as he also missed all of his attempts in the first half. However, he also scored two points from free throws just like AD.
