LeBron James and his fellow stars are playing on Christmas this season
It's been part of the tradition in the league that certain teams play on Christmas. One team that's almost always featured during the holidays is the Lakers. For the 2024-25 season, the team will have a game against an old rival, the Golden State Warriors.
Durant will also play on Christmas Day, as the Suns face the Denver Nuggets on Dec. 25.
LeBron James features in "Jingle Hoops" for a second time
Part of the NBA Christmas tradition is how the games are hyped depending on how the league promotes the games. In 2013, LeBron James was featured in the first edition of "Jingle Hoops" with Steve Nash, Derrick Rose, James Harden, Curry and Durant.
The crew shot jump shots, making a rhythm of "Jingle Bells" with every shot. To end the advertisement, James appeared out of nowhere to receive a lob pass from Nash.
This year, James, along with Durant and Curry, appeared on the commercial's second edition. However, the league decided to have an animated rendition of each player that made an appearance.
The rendition of the commercial also featured some of the league's other top stars, Victor Wembanyama, Anthony Edwards and Nikola Jokic.
