LeBron James watched Anthony Davis’ game against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. With the LA Lakers having a two-day break, the four-time MVP spent time catching up with NBA games. AD’s go-ahead basket over Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu quickly caught his attention.
James promptly reacted on Instagram a few minutes after Davis had hit a floater against the Hawks late in the fourth quarter:
“GAME BLOUSES!!”

In a tug-of-war fourth quarter, the Atlanta Hawks grabbed a 118-115 lead with 1:46 remaining. Klay Thompson drilled a 3-pointer to tie the game before Davis blocked Trae Young’s layup in the next possession. The big man capped off his heroics with a floater over the outstretched arms of Okongwu to give the Dallas Mavericks a 120-118 lead.
AD shadowed Young in the final seconds, forcing the point guard to miss a desperate triple to hand the Mavs the win.
LeBron James, who saw Anthony Davis carry the LA Lakers before the shick trade for Luka Doncic in February, couldn't hold back a reaction. Davis had his best game for the Mavericks, tallying 34 points, 15 rebounds, five blocks, two assists and one steal.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis will square off before the regular season ends
In the last meeting between the LA Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks in late February, Anthony Davis couldn't play. Behind LeBron James and Luka Doncic, the Lakers cruised to a 107-99 win.
The highly anticipated showdown between James and Davis will happen on April 9 if both can stay healthy. The Lakers will cap off a three-game road swing with a visit to American Airlines Arena for Doncic’s much-awaited return to his former hunting ground.
Although Doncic’s return to Dallas will get top billing, the James-Davis faceoff will offer close competition. AD and King James were teammates for a little over five years before their partnership ended in February.
Less than five years after leading the LA Lakers to the 2020 NBA championship, James and Davis will square off in one week. The Mavericks and the Lakers have much to play for, making the encounter a mouthwatering one.
