LeBron James is a man of many talents. Long before dominating in the hardwood, he turned heads for his performances on the gridiron.
The LA Lakers forward was a state-wide sensation in high school football. He could've legitimately pursued a career in the NFL and had as much success as he did on the basketball court, and maybe even after he became an NBA star.
On Wednesday's episode of the "New Heights" podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce, James admitted that he considered playing in the NFL for one year.
"What if I just did one year?" James said. "Yeah, the only time I've, like, really taken it, like, super duper serious, I believe, was, I think it was 2011 when we had an NBA lockout and, you know, and I didn't know, like, when we were going to make the deal with with the owners and get our league back going.

"So I actually thought about it a little bit back then. I was still young enough, you know, to get out there with y'all. But you know, that's the only time I've actually seriously considered it. I've had serious dreams about this sh*t."
For years, people speculated if James could've successfully played as a tight end in the pros. With his size, build, speed, strength and athleticism, many believe he could've thrived in the NFL.
LeBron James changed NFL teams over politics
For years, LeBron James supported the Dallas Cowboys. His business partner, Maverick Carter, even shared that James had a discussion with Jerry Jones to fulfill his lifelong dream of playing for the team.
Unfortunately, it all went south in 2016 when the Cowboys owner made a strong stance against former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and the players who decided to kneel in protest during the national anthem.
During an Instagram Live session, James told Carter that he is no longer a fan of the Cowboys due to Jones' stance, adding that he would be rooting for his hometown team, the Cleveland Browns.
Neither team has been particularly good since, but James has been a regular attendee at the Super Bowl and LA Rams games. He's also reportedly a good Madden player.
