CBS Sports insider Bill Reiter's report was met with LeBron James's review on X (formerly Twitter), where he minced no words in making it clear that he had little to do with his teammate's, his former teammate's, shock trade to the Dallas Mavericks.

According to ESPN insider Dave McMenamin, LeBron James only learned of the trade while he was having dinner with his friends and had no inkling of it, even though this trade had been reportedly brewing for a few days. No one in the league seemed to have a clue about the inner workings of the deal between Nico Harrison and the Dallas Mavericks, and the Los Angeles Lakers.
