LA Lakers fans didn't hold anything back after LeBron James' turnover-filled performance on Friday cost the team another win. James had five turnovers in the Lakers' 101-93 loss to the OKC Thunder in their final group game of the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup.

"King James" finished with 12 points, eight rebounds and six assists as the Lakers were virtually eliminated from the tournament. Anthony Davis had 15 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, while Dalton Knecht was the team's leading scorer with 20 points. The game was close until the final minutes, and the Lakers were just down by two points with 40 seconds remaining.

However, the Thunder went on a 6-0 run to win the matchup led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's 36 points, seven rebounds and nine assists. Jalen Williams added 19 points, four rebounds and two steals, while Isaiah Hartenstein dropped a double-double of 11 points and 17 rebounds.

LA Lakers fans were not happy with the result since they failed to defend the NBA Cup and dropped to 12-8 for the season. Some are even upset with LeBron James for his turnovers. James has battled Father Time admirably, but he'll be 40 years old next month.

"BREAKING: LeBron James is officially washed up. End of an era," a fan tweeted.
"This is about the 5th game in a row. Worst +\- on the entire team. Don't keep thinking LeBron needs more pieces around him. This team is better without him," one fan claimed.
"Bron puttin up Bronny numbers," another fan joked.

Despite his struggles in this game, James is still averaging 22.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 9.1 assists this season. At his age, he'll have a good string of games and then have bad performances. He's no longer in his prime, so he's not going to play great in every game.

"Age is catching up to him," a fan wrote.
"He is finally showing his age on a consistent basis, all good. Only took 22 years," one fan commented.
"He's gonna have one good game every two weeks and on those nights folks gonna pretend he ain't cooked but it is Joeover," another fan remarked.

The four-time NBA MVP has not scored over 20 points in his last four games, but has had two double-doubles. However, he's also had six, five, five and five turnovers in those four games.

LeBron James doesn't care about his high turnover numbers

Speaking to Spectrum SportsNet after a loss to the Phoenix Suns, LeBron James explained that he's bound to turn the ball over when he's trying to make the right plays. James is currently fifth in turnovers per game this season behind Cade Cunningham, Trae Young, LaMelo Ball and James Harden.

"Trying to make the right play," James said, according to Lakers News. "Some of them are just not good reads, some of them are. Some of them I can be a little bit more careful but at the end of the day, I'm trying to make winning plays so it's not a big deal for me."
