LeBron James expressed his thoughts on the LA Lakers on Tuesday on the "GoJo and Golic TV Show." The hosts asked LeBron if he feels like the Lakers have figured out their identity this season and if they're ready to go compete in the NBA Playoffs.

James clarified what their identity is as a team both on offense and defense. Being in sixth place in the Western Conference with a 20-16 record, the King seems satisfied with how they've performed so far this season.

"Yeah, I think so," James said at 2:40. "I think our identity, one defensively, we want to bring physicality to the game. Make teams try to do something they do not like to do. Then offensively, we want to share the ball. We're very good when we're up in the high 20s in assists and low turnovers. When we do that, we're a pretty good team."

LeBron James reflected on whether or not the Lakers could improve as the season continues. He feels that they have a better chance of competing in the postseason this year.

"Sitting right now at our record, obviously we've let some games get past us," James continued at 3:00. "We've also been able to come back in some games ... I feel like we have so much more room to improve. We're not the team I believe we're gonna be once February or March hit. But I do like our chances and we gotta continue to put the work in and that's all that matters."

Can LeBron James take LA back to NBA Playoffs?

LeBron James and the LA Lakers are looking good so far this season. Despite a few bumps on the road, they've kept themselves in the playoff picture. The Lakers have a 20-16 record and are sitting in sixth place in the Western Conference.

Comparing their record to teams that are ahead of them, it isn't a drastic difference at all. The Dallas Mavericks, who're in fifth place, have a 22-17 record.

In fourth, the Denver Nuggets have a 23-15 record. The Lakers are only two games behind the Nuggets, which gives them good odds of catching up to them, given that they consistently win their games. However, that doesn't seem to be a problem as LeBron James is still putting up monster numbers.

Looking at the King's performances since turning 40 in late December, he's averaging 26.0 points, 8.0 assists and 6.6 rebounds. That's slightly better compared to his overall average this season with 23.8 ppg, 8.8 apg and 7.7 rpg. At this point, the Lakers need to smoothen their chemistry with the addition of Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton to become a more solid unit come the playoffs.
