LA Lakers rookie guard Bronny James scored his first NBA points during Wednesday's 134-110 road loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Afterward, his father, Lakers superstar forward LeBron James, reflected on Bronny facing immense pressure to perform, noting that he wouldn't want to trade places.
Bronny, the No. 55 pick in this year's NBA draft, has received sparse playing time to begin his career. After going scoreless in three minutes during LA's 110-103 season-opening win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Oct. 22, he picked up three consecutive DNPs.
However, Bronny got some run on Wednesday against the Cavaliers, earning the chance to score his first basket against his father's former team. Upon entering the contest with 5:16 remaining, the Cleveland native received a raucous standing ovation.

A few minutes later, Bronny scored his first career basket, drilling a fadeaway midrange wing jumper with 2:06 to go. The Cavaliers' crowd erupted, creating a likely memorable moment for the rookie.
Following the contest, LeBron reflected on his son's first game in his home city, noting that he didn't envy his circumstances.
"He's better than I would've been in that situation," James said. "... If the roles were reversed, I don't know if I would be able to handle it."
However, LeBron added that Bronny fulfilling his dream is "the greatest thing in the world."
Bronny finished his Cleveland debut with two points, two assists and one steal, shooting 1-for-2 (50.0%) across five minutes. After getting his first basket out of the way, he should have a better chance of settling into a rhythm the next time he hits the court.

Bronny James on receiving warm reception from Cavaliers fans in Cleveland homecoming
During his Wednesday postgame interview, Bronny James thanked Cavaliers fans for their warm welcome during his Cleveland homecoming. He added that their support exceeded his expectations.
"It was insane," Bronny said. "Much more than I anticipated for sure, but it’s all love."
Bronny's next chance to suit up comes on Friday when the Lakers (3-2) take on the Toronto Raptors (1-4) on the road.
LA will attempt to snap its two-game losing streak, so coach JJ Redick could run a tight rotation. However, if the contest ends up being another blowout, perhaps Bronny will get some playing time.
