What lies ahead for LeBron James as he turns 40 in December? LA Lakers fans are optimistic that "The King" will put up even better numbers next season, especially after his impressive performance in the Olympics, where he led Team USA to a gold medal.
LeBron James posted averages of 25.7 points, 8.3 assists and 7.3 rebounds on 54.0% shooting from the field, 41.0% from three-point range and 75.0% from the free throw line during the 2023-24 season.
The Lakers ended with a 47-35 record, eighth in the competitive Western Conference, before being eliminated by the second-seed Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs.

Other fans also shared their predictions for LeBron James’ stats next season:
This offseason, the Lakers made only minor adjustments to their roster, the most notable being re-signing James. They also drafted his son Bronny and brought in sharpshooter Dalton Knecht.
The biggest changes for the Lakers have been on the coaching front, with new head coach JJ Redick and assistants Nate McMillan, Scott Brooks, and Lindsey Harding, who was named Coach of the Year last season with the Stockton Kings of the NBA G League.
Will LeBron be the oldest player in NBA history when he plays at 40?
As LeBron turns 40 in December, he won't hold the title of the oldest player in NBA history.
That honor goes to Nat Hickey, who played until he was 44 years and 363 days old.
The top five oldest players in NBA history include Kevin Willis at 44 years and 224 days in second, Robert Parish at 43 years and 254 days in third, Vince Carter at 43 years and 45 days in fourth and Dikembe Mutombo at 42 years and 300 days in fifth.
James would need to play two more seasons to break into the top 10, with John Stockton currently holding the 10th spot, having played until he was 41 years and 35 days old.
