LeBron James is a big Ohio State football fan. The Akron native keeps his eye on the Buckeyes’ season even while he plays for the LA Lakers in the NBA. On Saturday, he didn’t waste time checking on the Buckeyes-Volunteers game after leading the Lakers to a 103-99 win over the Sacramento Kings.

The NBA superstar talked to reporters inside the locker room while watching the College Football Playoff between eighth-seeded Ohio and No. 9-ranked Tennessee.

Fans promptly reacted to the scene:

“Bron keep Stream East loaded on his laptop”

@clinkie44 said:

“Ohio State owning Tennessee like LeBron just did the Kings”

@dycameron22 added:

“LeBron will be at the Rose Bowl to see his Buckeyes. Lakers play at home on 12/31 and 1/2……”

One fan commented:

“Honestly, I’ve been there, a laptop with a thousand tabs open just to watch the game.”

Another fan said:

“LeBron gorta go bald to let his full powers resonate”

The play LeBron James reacted to happened in the first quarter when Treveyon Henderson rumbled for a 29-yard touchdown run. Henderson’s TD pushed Ohio State’s lead to 21-0. Tennessee responded in the second quarter with a 10-0 score to trail 21-10 at halftime.

The four-time MVP cheering for the Buckeyes isn’t surprising. He is an avid football fan and rued about playing for Ohio State had he not jumped to the NBA from high school in 2003.

LeBron James’ Ohio State is headed for a rematch with Oregon in the Rose Bowl

Ohio State’s first loss of the season happened on Oct. 12 when it lost 32-31 to Oregon. The unbeaten Ducks owned the No. 1 seed in the CFP rankings due to a 13-0 record. They get a bye on Saturday and will await the winner of the Buckeyes-Volunteers game in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1.

LeBron James and the LA Lakers’ last game in 2024 will be on Dec. 31 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Lakers’ next game after that will be two nights later when they host the Portland Trail Blazers.

Fans wouldn’t be surprised if James watches the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, as the Buckeyes are poised to beat the Volunteers. Ohio State had a 35-10 lead heading into the fourth quarter following a 1-yard run by Quinshon Judkins.

LeBron James’ favorite college football team is headed for a rematch with the Oregon Ducks in the Rose Bowl.
