LA Lakers star LeBron James and the rest of the NBA combined failed to make as much money as all of the OnlyFans creators combined last season.

According to a report from Basketball Forever, OnlyFans creators collectively made $6.6 billion over the course of 2023. On the flip side, if we combine the pay of LeBron James, Steph Curry and the rest of the league, it fails to match up.

According to the site, the 2023-24 combined payroll for the Association was $4.9 billion across the league, despite record-breaking contracts, and an ever-increasing salary cap. Of course, the key difference here is that, per Enterprise Apps Today, there are 2.1 million registered creators on OnlyFans.

On the flip side, there are only 500-550 players in the league when factoring in two-way players, injured players and those signed to veteran minimum contracts.

Fans were quick to react to the news that OnlyFans creators collectively made more than the NBA, who recently just signed a new media rights deal worth a whopping $76 billion.

"Lebron OF coming soon" - One fan joked in response to the report.
"Generation is cooked" - Another fan joked in response to the stats.

Others also weighed in:

"And people think they worried about shame they getting that bag!"- One fan wrote in response to the news.
"So basically having simps is more valuable then having talent nowadays" - Another joked.

Looking at the highest-paid NBA players heading into the 2024-25 season

While the NBA as a whole has a combined payroll of $4.9 billion, there are several players who stand out above the rest. This season, only five players are set to make over $50 million. Next season, however, that number will increase to 16 as contract valuations go up, and the salary cap grows.

This season, the highest-paid player in the league will be Steph Curry. The four-time NBA champ signed a four-year deal worth $215 million that kicked in at the start of the 2022-23 season. Currently, Curry is entering the third year of his deal, with one final year, valued at $59 million, left on his contract.

In addition to being the highest-paid player this season, Steph Curry will also be the highest-paid player in the NBA next season.

For this year, however, sitting behind Steph Curry, we have Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid, both of whom are set to make $51.4 million next season. They are followed by Kevin Durant, who will make $51.1 million. Last, but certainly not least, we have Bradley Beal, who is set to make $50.2 million next season.

With that in mind, next year, NBA players will earn significantly more, meaning the collective group of OnlyFans creators may not earn more than the league as a whole. That might be a little reassuring for the NBA fans.
