Looking at Lacie and Lexie Hull’s intertwined basketball careers
As highlighted by Jade Thomas of Athletes Unlimited in January 2023, Lexie and Lacie Hull dreamed as high school seniors of continuing their basketball careers as teammates in college. Lacie was lauded as an exceptional passer, while Lexie’s forte was aggressive scoring.
At Stanford, the twins made an immediate impact during their freshman year. Lacie earned Pac-12 All-Freshman honors, and the duo played pivotal roles in the Cardinal’s Pac-12 Championship victory.
In their sophomore season, Lexie stepped into a starting role, earning All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Defense honors. Meanwhile, Lacie split time between starting and coming off the bench, averaging over 20 minutes per game and finishing in the conference’s top 20 for defensive win shares.
The Hull sisters played key roles in Stanford’s first national championship in 29 years during their junior season. Lexie was again named to the All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Defense teams, while Lacie excelled defensively, contributing over 15 minutes per game off the bench.
As seniors, both sisters were starters. Lacie ranked in the Pac-12’s top 10 for defensive rating, and Lexie secured All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Defense honors for a third consecutive season.
After a storied collegiate career, Lexie Hull was selected sixth overall in the 2022 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever, while Lacie chose not to pursue professional basketball.
Lacie transitioned to a career in e-commerce during her senior year and began working for eBay in Austin, Texas.
