A friendly rivalry appears to be brewing between Phoenix Suns teammates Devin Booker and Kevin Durant ahead of the Detroit Lions' upcoming playoff game against the Washington Commanders, which will determine who advances to the NFC Championship on Saturday.

Interestingly, this game takes place just hours before the Suns face the Pistons in Detroit, and Booker’s Lions will be hosting Durant’s Commanders in the playoffs.

After the Suns' 120-113 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday, Booker was asked if he’d be willing to place a bet with Durant. Booker replied that he’s open to whatever Durant suggests.

“For sure, whatever he wants to do. Man, we can talk about it now, you guys get it up from me,” he said.

Booker’s confidence in making a bet is boosted by the fact that his Lions are 9.5-point favorites against the Commanders.

Booker scored 30 points, dished out eight assists, grabbed five rebounds and had three steals on Sunday as the Suns exacted revenge over the Hornets. Durant, who sparked in the second half, finished with 27 points, eight rebounds and five assists, helping the Suns secure their first three-game winning streak in over two months.

Ex-NBA player suggests tensions between Devin Booker and Kevin Durant

After a promising start to the season, the Phoenix Suns have struggled due to injuries and, as of Sunday, find themselves 10th in the Western Conference with a 19-19 record.

Amid their difficult season, former NBA player Richard Jefferson, in an episode of the “Road Trippin'” podcast, claimed that Devin Booker and Kevin Durant are no longer on good terms.

"The last thing I'll say about KD, as great as he is — he's still one of the best players in the NBA, I think he can still lead a team to a championship — at what time has KD been teaming up with his boys worked out the way he would like?” Jefferson said (13:00 mark).
"Because before, he loved Devin Booker. There was a mutual respect. Now, they're not getting along. Don't really mess with Bradley Beal. Bradley Beal's out. Now, they're gonna bring in Jimmy Butler potentially because that’s what KD wants."

The Suns have been linked to Jimmy Butler recently and have made some changes to their rotation, with Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic moving to the bench.
