Anthony Edwards performed well for Team USA in the group stage win over Puerto Rico on Saturday at the 2024 Paris Olympics. NBA fans were impressed with his game and claimed to see shades of Michael Jordan in Edwards.

Edwards has long been compared to Jordan, especially since he led the Minnesota Timberwolves to a historic 2023-24 season.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), Overtime posted a picture of Jordan and compared Edwards' game with the NBA great. Fans reacted to the post, and some named him 'the Michael Jordan of the modern era.'

"Homie is literally Jordan in the modern era," a fan wrote.

"Same arm and leg bands. He knows," a fan wrote.

Some fans hilariously said that Edwards is Jordan's son.

"Just like his daddy," a fan wrote.

A fan wrote that Anthony Edwards has reached a level where MJ should be compared to him, not vice versa.

"We should be comparing MJ to Ant not Ant to MJ," a fan wrote.

However, a fan said that the comparison wasn't fair because, unlike MJ, Edwards was playing great at the Olympics.

"Ant played so much better in Olympics than Jordan," another fan wrote.

Anthony Edwards led Team USA to a blowout win against Puerto Rico in Paris Olympics

It was Anthony Edwards' time to shine at the Paris Olympics. The Minnesota Timberwolves star put a masterful performance in Team USA's blowout win against Puerto Rico.

He scored 26 points in just 17 minutes, coming off the bench. Edwards took 15 shots and made 11 of them from the field. He made three of six shots from the three-point line. He also registered three rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Besides Edwards, LeBron James also had a great all-around game. James scored 10 points in 18 minutes, shooting four of six shots from the field. He orchestrated most of his team's offense and dropped eight assists.

Team USA won all three group-stage games in the Olympics. Before Puerto Rico, they defeated Serbia and South Sudan in the first two games. They will face Brazil in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
