The NBA season is back, and D'Angelo Russell flaunted his new hairstyle in the Lakers' season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. Russell dyed his hair blonde before appearing in the Ceypto.com arena for the new season.
However, the online NBA fans did not have the greatest response to Russell's transformation. They trolled their Lakers star for his new hairstyle in their posts on X.
One fan compared D'lo to Amber Rose, an American model in his tweet:
"Dlo looking like Amber Rose on my tv screen bro get him out of here."

Other fans joined the bandwagon and expressed similar sentiments on social media.
"D'Angelo Russell hair is out of the movie 5th Element."
"D’Angelo Russell out there looking like mfn Simon Phoenix from Demolition Man wit them gold dreads and shxt," one fan said.
"D’Angelo Russell that is the worst hairstyle I ever seen in my life," another fan said.
Another fan took a jab at D'lo's shooting and combined it with his hairstyle.
"Hairstyle weak asf and he can’t shoot, nasty combo," one fan said.
"I can't take it. D'Angelo Russell has a blonde wig on? Who is the woman calling the game with Van Gundy? Someone tweet at me if Bronny checks in. NBA is completely emasculated," another fan said.
D'Angelo Russell ends opening night with a poor offensive showing
D'Angelo Russell's new hairstyle wasn't the only thing to talk about him after the Lakers-Timberwolves game ended. The Purple and Gold secured a 110-103 win in the opening night but the majority of the offensive work was done by Anthony Davis. The big man delivered a spectacular performance, scoring 36 points and collecting 16 rebounds to secure the win for his team.
D'Lo, on the other hand, looked a bit washed offensively. He scored 9 points, collected one rebound and dished out five assists in 34 minutes. His performance was worse than the Lakers' last season's opener against the Nuggets which they lost 119-107. In that game, Russell scored 11 points, collected 4 rebounds and dished out 7 assists.
However, D'Angelo Russell's defensive performance on Tuesday's season opener was better than it has been in the last few seasons. The Lakers guard was better in position, tracked back faster and was good at contesting shots at the perimeter.
He made 2 steals on Tuesday and had a +/- of +15. It was just the first game of an 82-game season and Russell has some time in hand to get his shot back but he has to make sure to not forget the great defensive approach he has started the season with.
