Steph Curry is in the middle of an event he hasn’t experienced before. The Golden State Warriors star is debuting in the Olympics with the USA’s men’s basketball team. Curry and his NBA superstar teammates are trying to give their country its fifth consecutive gold medal in the sport.

Curry is also experiencing a first on a personal level. He is celebrating his wedding anniversary without his wife, Ayesha Curry. The two-time NBA MVP, however, went on Instagram to show how much this day means to him:

“13 years in and still loving every minute of it my woman! @ayeshacurry
“July 30, 2011”

The love story between one of the NBA’s power couples is well-documented. They met in their teens in a church in North Carolina. Marcus Thompson’s “The Miraculous Rise of Steph Curry” detailed, via the basketball star’s sister, Sydel Curry, how the connection started:

"She would find him after church, barely say two words, and, like, walk away. That's how she would flirt with him in a way. He clearly liked it. It left an impression."

The impression was strong enough that five years after that fateful meeting, Steph Curry and Ayesha Curry started dating. They tied the knot in 2011 and a year later, Riley Curry joined the family. In May, this year, they welcomed a boy named Caius Chai on Instagram.

The Golden State Warriors’ franchise cornerstone is enjoying his life on and off the court.

Ayesha Curry is planning to go to Paris to support her husband Steph Curry

Ayesha Curry can’t be with her husband Steph Curry on their 13th wedding anniversary, but she plans to fly to Paris nonetheless. In the "Thirteen Lune" blog, the “Sweet July” founder had this to say about her plans this summer:

“We’re headed to Paris to support Stephen and Team USA”

She added that there’s extra motivation for her to go to the country known for its culinary delights:

“It’s one of my favorite places. I love the art and culture, and the food, of course!”

Steph Curry, Kevin Durant and LeBron James are leading Team USA. They are heavy favorites to win the gold medal. Ayesha Curry will likely arrive in time for the championship celebration.

If everything goes as planned, Curry's will be in Paris to add a new experience to their wedding anniversary celebrations.
