With Bronny James being selected as the 55th overall pick in the 2024 draft, he also secured his first official appearance in an NBA 2k game. While 2k has yet to officially reveal Bronny's rating for their annual release, parody account @NBAMemes released an alleged leak rating.

The leak has Bronny rated with a 58 overall, which is arguably low even for a player taken late in the second round of the draft.

While these ratings are likely just a joke considering the page that posted it is a parody account, NBA fans can't help but make jokes or roast Bronny for the low rating.

"Lower rating than 2k25 Ben Simmons is insane," one fan said.
"So we're being generous here," another fan said.
"That’s too high of a rating," one fan said.

On the other hand, some fans thought that this alleged rating is too low and that Bronny deserves better.

"[His] defensive IQ and 3 pt shooting alone should have him in the 60s," one fan said.
"Too low not enough is being accounted for his growth and development coming into the new season," another fan said.
"70," one fan said.

Currently, NBA 2k is yet to release ratings for any NBA player for its annual release. As such, only time will tell if Bronny James' actual rating will be higher or lower than 58.

Rob Pelinka highlights the reasons for the LA Lakers decision to draft Bronny James

The LA Lakers' decision to draft Bronny James has sparked a lot of controversy among NBA fans. This is perhaps the most drama that a late second-round pick has ever caused and the team's general manager Rob Pelinka aims to lay this controversy to rest.

While speaking with members of the media, including Sportskeeda's Mark Medina, Pelinka shared what led to Bronny being drafted by the team.

The Lakers' GM complimented Bronny for his high character as well as the hard work that he puts in to become a better basketball player. Pelinka shared that these are qualities that the team looks for in their prospects while also adding that Bronny showed excellent potential when he worked out for the Lakers.

Pelinka also shared that JJ Redick is already working on developing Bronny's talents to best help the Lakers moving forward.

Despite Pelinka's statements, it cannot be helped that fans are making this about LeBron James. The Lakers want to keep the four-time champion on their team and one of the ways they could do that is by drafting Bronny James so that the two could play together, fulfilling LeBron's dream.

Many felt that Bronny was not yet at the level where he is NBA ready on account of his underwhelming freshman season at USC. In his only year at college, Bronny averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists.

However, he also had a slow start because of the health scare that he suffered before the start of his collegiate career.

Bronny could have remained for one more year in college to raise his draft stock but his decision to enter the NBA now is rife with controversy due to his relation to LeBron James.

Bronny James will have a chance to prove the doubters wrong in the years to come but due to who his father is, he will have to work extra hard to do so.
