Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic has been out since the team's 98-89 win against the Phoenix Suns on Dec. 27 due to a left calf strain. Doncic was spotted returning to the locker room on the sidelines of the Mavs' 134-122 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday while requesting assistance.
Eagle-eyed fans filmed the Slovenian basketball star limping as he made his way to his knee scooter. Doncic rode a knee scooter as he headed back to the locker room.
Doncic's calf has bothered him throughout the 2024-25 NBA season. The star has missed 13 games, mostly due to the issues with his calf. He's played 22 games, averaging 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.8 assists on 46.4% shooting.

Mavs insider Brad Townsend hinted that the European might not return to action soon after seeing the knee scooter.
"Luka Doncic arrived from the AAC parking garage with his leg propped on a little scooter, so, yeah, it’ll be a while before he can train, much less play," Townsend tweeted.
The Mavs (20-15), who are on a four-game losing skid, have only won one of the last five games that Doncic has missed. However, even without the five-time All-Star, Dallas is sixth in the Western Conference.

Fans were worried about Luka Doncic after seeing him with a knee scooter
Mavs fans grew concerned after seeing their star, Luka Doncic, with a knee scooter on the sidelines. The team relies heavily on his production on the offensive end. And without him, Dallas' season is in jeopardy. However, fans are more concerned about his health.
"Pray for Luka," a fan said.
"Hope he’s okay by the playoffs," another fan said.
"That’s how they treat Achilles ruptures…man. Hope it really is the calf," one fan shared their concern.
Other fans suggested plans for Doncic as he continues to recover.
"Mavs need him but let him heal. Forcing it might cause a season ending injury," one fan said.
"Doesn't matter how long it takes. Coming back after all star game I'd prefer. Mavs gotta start winning without him," another fansuggested a longer healing time for Doncic.
"Shut down for the whole year don’t risk it," a fan wants the star to take the year off and recover.
Another concern for Doncic is his eligibility for NBA awards. Players can only miss 17 games to still be eligible for regular season rewards under the league's 65-game regulation.
