JJ Redick details relationship with Luka Doncic
LA Lakers head coach JJ Redick talked with reporters after the Dallas Mavericks sent Luka Doncic to Southern California. He touched on the players leaving the team and their quality but also spoke about his relationship with Doncic, whom he played with in 2021.
“Luka and I were teammates. I would say we have a friendship, mutual respect. You then have to figure out how to have a working relationship as a player-coach. Both he and I are committed to that.
“I had a great conversation with him and subsequent conversations. I’m excited to build [on] that and that’s different than going on a podcast. Luka knows me and how I operate.”
The LA Lakers rank fifth in the Western Conference standings (29-19), one game behind the Denver Nuggets. They are closely looking at the top four of the conference and perhaps Doncic's addition can take them to the next level.
