Dallas Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban fired back at Elon Musk for his recent comments that labeled him as looking like a “lesbian.” Cuban called out the Tesla CEO for being obsessed with him while also criticizing Musk's significant donation to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

In a recent interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, Cuban said Trump could “target” business leaders who don't back him, expressing that they are concerned “about his retribution or his vengeance.” Musk then replied, suggesting that he and Maddow resembled “a lesbian couple from Portland.”

In response to Musk, Mark Cuban wrote on X:

“You can't stop thinking about me @elonmusk Can you ? It's ok. I understand. If I supported a candidate that was so incompetent I had to take over and fund their ground game, I would be looking for a distraction too.”

Cuban referenced the recent revelation that Musk donated nearly $75 million to a super political action committee supporting Donald Trump from July to September. Musk has increasingly shown support for Trump, using his X (formerly Twitter) platform, which boasts over 200 million followers, to endorse the former president.

Following Musk's endorsement, Trump has consistently praised him at rallies. The former president has also promised to establish a government efficiency committee that Musk would lead if elected.

Mark Cuban responds to possibility of purchasing Elon Musk's X

Mark Cuban, recognized as one of the wealthiest individuals in the NBA, recently responded directly to whether he would consider buying X (formerly Twitter), a platform he has been quite active on lately.

In an interview with Wired, Cuban, a former governor and current minority owner of the Dallas Mavericks, expressed his interest in acquiring the platform, which has reportedly experienced a significant decline in value since Elon Musk took control. He indicated that he would be open to the idea if the opportunity presented itself.

When asked if he’d purchase it "in a perfect world," Mark Cuban answered:

“Yeah, for sure.”

However, he conceded that a purchase isn’t feasible at the moment, noting that Musk "wouldn’t sell it."

“I wish I could. There’s no reason for him to sell it,” he said.

Musk's acquisition of Twitter was finalized in October 2022, with the deal valued at approximately $44 billion. His motivations for the purchase included concerns about free speech, claiming the platform censored conservative viewpoints and exhibited a left-leaning bias.

Since Musk took over, the company's value has plummeted significantly, with estimates indicating a 71% drop, largely attributed to a steep decline in advertising revenue and operational changes. According to The Guardian, X is now valued at around $12.5 billion.
