The Dallas Mavericks need Luka Doncic back on the floor but he is still dealing with the calf strain he sustained on Christmas Day.

It's been 10 days since Doncic has been sidelined, and his most recent public appearance was far from encouraging for the team's fans.

During Friday's home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Doncic had his leg propped up on a scooter and still cannot put weight on it. The clip quickly went viral and it didn't take long before fans shared their thoughts about it.

"So it’s not that he can’t, he’s not suppose to. In order to recover from a calf strain it’s pure rest. Just straight up resting that leg. No pressure whatsoever and it’ll heal faster," one fan said.
"Shut down for the whole year don’t risk it," a fan said.
"He stays hurt now he's never healthy," another fan wrote.
"Let him go through the process of healing instead of rushing him back to play so he'll be at his best," another fan commented.
"doesn't matter how long it takes. Coming back after all star game I'd prefer. Mavs gotta start winning without him," a fan tweeted.

The Dallas Mavericks are struggling to stay healthy

Luka Doncic isn't the only Dallas Mavericks player who has been sidelined recently.

Klay Thompson, Dereck Lively II and Kyrie Irving have all been forced to be on street clothes multiple times over the past couple of weeks. Naji Marshall was also suspended for fighting in the game against the Phoenix Suns on Dec. 27.

Jason Kidd's team has dropped six of its last 10 games. The Mavs have a 20-15 record and are sixth in the Western Conference standings due to holding a tiebreaker over the LA Clippers.

Irving is dealing with an undisclosed illness and was a late scratch vs. the Cavaliers, but he should be back on the floor on Sunday when the Mavs face the Memphis Grizzlies.

Doncic will reportedly remain on the sidelines for at least one month. Given how tricky calf injuries are, it wouldn't be shocking to see the team shut him down until after the All-Star break if that's what it takes to get him back to full strength.
