Memes pour in as Bronny James beats Grant Williams at Summer League Call of Duty tournament

NBA fans reacted to the news of Bronny James defeating NBA player Grant Williams at the Summer League Call of Duty Modern Warfare III Tournament in Las Vegas. The LA Lakers rookie defeated the Charlotte Hornets star on Sunday for a $10,000 prize money.

It was a close game between the son of the Lakers superstar LeBron James and Williams. Bronny had 84 points in the game while Grant came close with 83.

The news wasn't taken well by some of the NBA fans who said that the rookie player should be working on his shooting rather than playing video games.

"Bruh should be hitting up the gym to improve his FG percentage instead he’s hitting up Call of Duty and beating bum ass Grant Williams," a fan wrote.
"Lil bro need to be shootin jumpers in the gym f*ck COD," another fan wrote.

Some of the fans even suggested that Bronny should become a streamer and leave basketball.

"Bronny sucks at basketball so might as well be a streamer lmao," a fan wrote rather unkindly.
"Maybe Bronny should focus on becoming a professional gamer instead might have more success," another fan wrote.

There were some fans who slammed Legion Hoops for posting such updates on their X handle.

"We serious with this post?" a fan wrote.

Some fans mocked the Lakers player rather uncharitably.

"At least Bronny good at something," a person wrote in defense of Bronny.

However, there were also some fans who came in support of the Lakers rookie.

"The people in the comments acting like Bronny suppose to be working out 12 hrs a day," a fan wrote.

Bronny James is open to playing in G-League if sent by Lakers

Bronny James isn’t having a great time shooting basketball at the 2024 Summer League. There are already expectations that the son of LeBron James will be sent to the G-League to improve his game and come back ready to play for the Lakers.

The Lakers rookie has also tested where he stands currently from the standard of the league. While Bronny James has a lot of time on his hands to improve his game, he has no issues if he is sent to the G-league in his first year.

"I'm just looking forward to any basketball I play, no matter what level I'm playing at," James said after the Lakers' 99-80 loss to the Houston Rockets on Friday.

So far into the Summer League, Bronny James has shot 6 of 26 shots from the field, which is 23.1%. He has missed all 12 shots he has taken from the three-point line. The Lakers will next play the Boston Celtics on Monday in Las Vegas. Bronny will be in spotlight again.
