This is the matchday that every Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves fan eagerly anticipates. The growing rivalry between Ja Morant and Anthony Edwards is becoming one of the most captivating in the league, drawing attention both nationally and internationally.
Saturday's clash marks the first meeting between these two Western Conference teams this season and Morant's first encounter with the Timberwolves in two years. The Grizzlies (24-14) are third in the Western Conference standings, while the Timberwolves (20-17) are seventh.
The Grizzlies are struggling with form lately, having won just two of their last five games in 2025 and splitting their last ten outings evenly. Their recent wins came against the Phoenix Suns and a shorthanded Dallas Mavericks. They need a confidence-boosting victory, and a win against the Timberwolves on the road would be significant, but it won't be easy.
Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves are riding a strong wave of form, having recently defeated the Orlando Magic 104-89 and extending their winning streak to three games. With the Grizzlies dealing with injury concerns and poor recent performances, the Timberwolves will be confident of repeating last season's sweep.
