On Wednesday night, the Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans will kick off their season against each other. These two franchises will always be connected as they held the top two selections in the 2019 NBA draft. The Pelicans ended up going with Zion Williams No. 1, with Memphis taking Ja Morant at No. 2.
Heading into the season, both of these teams have expectations to be competitive. Even with major question marks surrounding their stars, each squad has a roster that can make noise in the Western Conference.
The Memphis Grizzlies will be looking to stay afloat without Ja Morant, while New Orleans is looking to start the year strong and make a statement.
